On October 16, the discussions on effective solutions of issues related to the construction of industrial-scale solar power plants held in Khoren and Shoushanig Avedisian School and Community Centre.
Participants were Deputy Minister of RA Ministry of Energy, and Natural Resourses, Hayk Harutyunyan, Deputy Minister of RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations, Artashes Bakhshyan, R2E2 Director, Tamara Babayan, as well as other relevant government agencies, international organizations and projects, non-governmental and financial organizations, experts and other interested parties. The main speaker of the meeting was Dr. Peter Gevorkian, an American-Armenian international authority in the field of solar energy and is well known for the number of published books and for designs of the industrial-scale solar power plant projects. He presented the technological, legal and political issues and solutions of the industrial-scale solar PV stations in various countries, international experience and the possibilities of successful implementation of such projects in Armenia.
